Live Music
Andrew began photographing live music in the summer of 2006. “It changed the way I attend concerts. With a camera, I found myself a part of the show and directly participating in the overall creative process. I loved how my art became capturing the art we all came to see,” he says. Andrew’s work is about documenting those moments in which the musician is taken by their muse - when the music is in control of the moment and the player has surrendered - all in a specific instant. It is a moment of transcendence as well as a moment of connection in which everyone in the room, band and audience, shares a single emotion and are beautifully and helplessly lost in the present.
Andrew’s live music images have been published in various music magazines (online and in print), by festivals for promotion purposes, and bands and solo musicians for promotional purposes as well as album art.
